Main chunk of history is here
Covering from where the wiki left off, things go a bit south when they head out. The Red and Blue clans end up clashing, Kukuri gets possessed by the Colorless King and stabs Shiro, SURPRISE! Shiro’s true identity is Adolf K. Weissman, the Immortal Silver King, who was trapped in the Colorless King’s real body on the night of Totsuka Tatara’s murder. That big reveal out of the way, they set off to try and save everyone. After stopping the clans from fighting and evacuating the students from the island, Neko and Kuroh become Shiro’s very first clansmen. With Neko left in the care of Izumo Kusanagi, Kuroh and Shiro set out to rescue Kukuri and destroy the Colorless King. It works, trapping the other king inside Shiro’s body. Despite wanting to stay by his King’s side, Kuroh is ordered away in order to safeguard Kukuri, and to prevent the Black Dog from trying to stop him from sacrificing himself to destroy the seventh king...
( Personality ) :
The easiest way to describe one Kuroh Yatogami would be to call him a modern samurai. Indeed, he does have the tendency to be stoic, is rather formal with people he doesn’t know well, and would do anything for the one he acknowledges as his master. A more accurate way to describe him would be a cross between a samurai and a housewife, all rolled up in the body of a boy who’s struggling to find a new place in the world.
Kuroh’s moral code is… somewhat peculiar. He quite clearly states that the only “law” he follows is the word of his late mentor and adoptive father, Ichigen Miwa, up to and including killing a certain person if they turn out to be evil, which is his entire motivation for coming to Shizume City in the first place. Manners are also very important to him. Prior to the events of the show, he chased down a group of armed robbers, not because they had just stolen money from a bank, but because in the process of escape they knocked over a small child and crushed his toy helicopter and he wanted them to apologize. Kuroh never does anything by half-measures. From cooking to fighting to school festivals, he puts all his effort behind any task he puts his mind to. Somewhat worryingly, repeated failures at a task he considers particularly important can cause him to consider rather drastic measures.
He’s also surprisingly soft-hearted at times. Kuroh’s loyalty to Ichigen stems from a mixture of hero worship and love for the man who raised him since he was small. One of the more peculiar ways he has of expressing this exists in the form of a handheld voice recorder upon which he has stored as many of Ichigen’s cryptic sayings as he could. This recorder is with him at all times, and is brought out whenever Kuroh feels that he or someone around him is in need of guidance. Asking him about it garners a reaction akin to asking a very dedicated fan about the crowning jewel of their collection of things from their favorite show. Of course, those same tender feelings make him kinda gullible. He’s fooled by Shiro making up an obviously fake sob story about having an ill little sister, even when the other boy trips up a bit.
While he’s mostly rather calm and collected, there are times when Kuroh can be rather temperamental. Most of the time it is relatively minor and simply involves a small verbal outburst, such as threatening to cut off Yashiro’s tongue when he cracks a joke about Kuroh being his wife. These outbursts become much more physical when he becomes truly angry, as the metal door he destroyed in anger in the second episode demonstrates.
Above all, Kuroh is very loyal to those he cares about. Although he is not terribly quick to warm to Yashiro and Neko, he’s willing to put his life on the line for them when they’re in danger, and does so multiple times throughout the series, even going as far as to fight both the Blue and Red Kings.
( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths: super strength, adapts to new situations quickly, willing to fight people he knows are more powerful than he is to save a friend, never intentionally lies
Weaknesses: easily embarrassed by things he considers “indecent”, willing to fight people he knows are more powerful than he is to save a friend, never intentionally lies
Special powers: It manifests in the form of spectral hands that have the ability to warp space. Most commonly he uses this to anchor himself to a distant point and pull himself (and anyone he happens to be holding onto) to it, or if the anchor point is a person, draw them in or throw them. It can also somewhat function as a shield from projectiles. Additionally, he has much greater strength than a human his size would normally possess. At his current canon point, he also has the ability to manipulate gravity to an extent due to having become part of the Silver Clan.
( Other Important Facts ) :
Driving Skills: He is quite knowledgeable about helicopters and is a pretty good pilot, even of military-grade craft. Kuroh is also confirmed to know how to drive motor boats and motorcycles, and presumably can drive cars too.
Power Level: Overall, Kuroh is one of the more powerful characters of the series - at least on par with Seri Awashima – and has only been truly outclassed in terms of combat ability by the Kings. It’s uncertain how becoming a Silver Clansman has effected this, if at all.
He is also very good at cooking, cleaning, and sewing, and even carries around both a small sewing kit and a cooking set with him when he travels.
( Sample ) :
…Ducks. It was raining ducks inside the dome. Not even rubber ducks like he would have expected with how a lot of these sorts of events seemed to have a bit of a playful irony to them. No, these were living ducks pelting the roofs and streets of Vatheon.
Kuroh couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for the poor birds. They’d done nothing to deserve this treatment. Even though they remained entirely uninjured by the impact, it still was hardly fair to them.
He winces a bit at the sound of another one bouncing off the roof. Hopefully none of the tiles had broken under the downpour; there will be enough work to do as it is to get the place back in order after all this is over, even excluding the fiaso clearing out the distressed water fowl would be. The swordsman sighs, and returns his attention to his cooking. No point in worrying about replacing roof tiles or herding ducks until something can be done about it.
And Starfishbucks bit from a different canon point.
